Joomla extensions maintenance
Whether you manage a site, two sites or a park of sites, you know very well that the updates are an essential element of the life of its sites. These are the updates that guarantee you better protection against the various security flaws, make you benefit from the latest improvements or corrections, allow you to have an excellent long-term customer relationship, etc.
But you also know that all the updates do not always happen very well and that for some, you tighten the buttocks so that everything goes well after the click. Admit it ... 😊
The best way to reassure yourself and be sure of what you are doing is reading the changelog (release notes), you know those little English text that no one reads.
Well, we! We do it for you and we tell you how!
Test the updates of each extension of Joomla!
When you have the responsibility to maintain a Joomla site for a client, there is no question of updating an extension without first testing it on dedicated environments. Nor without evaluating and judging the possible interactions with the rest of the system. Edge effects are not allowed.
The first thing to do to know what a new version is made of, is the release notes. Each publisher provided upon delivery a file containing all the changes made since the previous version. For some it is necessary to seek it, for the majority it is easily findable and for others it is necessary really, really to seek ... Finally it was especially true in 2009, fortunately since we manage to have them all.
Available for all
Impregnated with our community, we also said that what was originally a need of the agency could also benefit other Joomla site managers who do not speak technical and want to know the developments that offer this news versions.
The articles are therefore all public and can be read, shared by all. We would like to emphasize here that they are a freely translated by the Joomla Services team from the release notes published by the publisher and do not engage the word or the responsibility of the publisher. The comments made by our editors are based solely on our collective feeling, based on our own experience and our own tests.
Finally the comments are disabled because it is not a matter of making public support or promotion for this or that extension but to translate, sometimes to explain or at least to annotate the points that we think are important.
Joomla! Extensions
You have certainly understood that you will not find here all Joomla extensions but only those that we maintain for our customers. If an extension is missing please do not hesitate to contact us to talk about your coverage in terms of maintenance.
